Martyr's kin want case reopened

Jalandhar: While hearing of the case pertaining to martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev has started in Lahore high court following a petition by Lahore-based Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation, grandnephew of Sukhdev said he would also move the Supreme Court in India for reopening of the case here. He has sought cooperation from the government in case the martyrs' kin needed to go to Pakistan for the case.
"We have some old documents with us and in case we are called to Pakistan for the purpose, the Indian government should facilitate the visit. I shall also move the SC here for re-opening of the case," said Vishal Nayyar, who is son of Sukhdev's niece Sangeeta Nayyar.
The petition in Lahore was filed on December 17, 2008 on the ground that the names of the trio did not figure in the FIR pertaining to Saunders murder case in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Nayyar also demanded that the three should be officially declared national martyrs by the Indian government.
