Rs 6.68 cr for Markendya Mahadev under PRASAD

Under its Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spirituality Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) the Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned a fund of Rs 6.68 crores for the revitalization of Markandeya Mahadeo area located on the confluence of Ganga-Gomati rivers on Varanasi-Ghazipur border.

Varanasi: Under its Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spirituality Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) the Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned a fund of Rs 6.68 crores for the revitalization of Markandeya Mahadeo area located on the confluence of Ganga-Gomati rivers on Varanasi-Ghazipur border.
Union minister of state for tourism, culture and civil aviation Mahesh Sharma made this announcement at a function organized near Markandeya Mahadeo temple.
He said that out of total sanctioned budget for this place Rs 4.08 crores would be spend on constructing ghat along Ganga and improving condition of road leading to temple while Rs 2.60 crores would be utilized for the revitalization of Markandeya Mahadeo temple.
Earlier, while addressing the inaugural session Swadeshi Mela of Swadeshi Jagran Manch at cultural complex Chowkaghat Sharma termed the `Make in India’ campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as inspired by the concept of Swadeshi movement. He said that at the time of global slowdown only Indian economy has maintained a rising trend. “This is the reason why entire world is looking towards India and changing their concept about India”, said Sharma revealing the reasons why India is not getting affected by the global scenario.
