The feature card at Ffos Las, featuring the Welsh Champion Hurdle, has been abandoned after unrelenting rain this morning.
Conditions at the Carmarthenshire circuit were described as heavy but raceable after 10mm of rain up to 9am. But a further 15mm fell between 9am and 11am leaving standing water on the track and officials were forced to look again, along with a deputation of jockeys and trainers.
Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen said: "It was raceable at 9am, but it hasn't stopped raining since and conditions have deteriorated significantly, unfortunately.
"We've had over an inch of rain since yesterday and we have standing water in places.
"We had an inspection accompanied by some trainers and jockeys and in the interests of safety, the stewards have deemed the track unfit for racing."
