The Huawei Honor 5X has hit availability in India, with the smartphone now vending via Amazon and Flipkart. The phone was launched in the country alongside the Honor Holly 2 Plus last month. The latter handset is slated to come out on February 15.
The dual-SIM Huawei Honor 5X made its debut in China back in October last year. The manufacturer has priced it at Rs 12999 in India and fitted it with an all-metal body carved out of an aluminum alloy. A 360-degree fingerprint scanner adorns its back panel. The unit apparently allows users to unlock the device within 0.5 seconds.
It’s also been equipped with adaptive technology to learn more about a person’s fingerprint as they use it, preventing failed print recognition due to wet hands. Consumers of the Honor 5X can further use the scanner to call a contact or launch an app from the lockscreen itself. Long-pressing the sensor lets them answer a call and cancel alarms.
