Noida: The driver of a Supreme Court lawyer, Bharat Mahato, along with his friend Montu, was allegedly kidnapped and Mahato beaten up by two persons on Thursday afternoon, after the latter rammed their Maruti Eeco school van into the SUV Mahato was driving.
After the accident, the driver of the van, Parth Bhati, and his co-passenger Lokesh Sharma, got into an argument with Mahato and Montu near Hazipur underpass.
The accused then allegedly took the victims to a private school to which the van is supposedly affiliated, along the Noida Expressway near Sector 39 where Mahato was hit again. He ended up with fractured ribs and internal injuries.
Mahato said he was driving his employer's Mahindra XUV500 from Sector 42 to Sector 132. "The Eeco rammed our SUV. The driver and co-passenger started arguing with us. I called my employer's wife to inform her of the accident and she called the police," Mahato said. Bhati and Sharma then pulled Mahato out of the SUV and thrashed him. They then forcibly took both to the school in the SUV and attacked Mahato again. By then, the cops had traced the SUV to the school, where they found an injured Mahato, though the accused had escaped. Mahato was admitted to Kailash Hospital. The school guards identified the accused when police questioned them.
ASP Gaurav Grover said, "An FIR was lodged on Friday and we're investigating."
