10 Design Ideas We Love from Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian’s Calabasas Homes
1/10Ask anyone who watches Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and they’ll tell you: You’d be hard-pressed to find a pair of sisters more different than Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian. Nowhere is that more evident than in their neighboring Calabasas, California, homes. While Kourtney eschews color for elegant neutrals and clean lines, Khloé opts for ornate accents with Moroccan flair. Thankfully, both had Million Dollar Decorators’ Martyn Lawrence Bullard to help hone their distinct points of view. Here’s how Bullard made each house shine.
1. Warm it up.
A monochromatic palette in Kourtney’s home gets an infusion of depth and texture thanks to tactile elements, such as the Loro Piana wool-linen curtains in the living room. Khloé’s house puts the idea to use with a luxe alpaca rug in her master bedroom.

It’s perhaps the last place you’d expect to incorporate pattern, but that’s exactly why you should try the trend. Bullard installed intricate Schumacher wallpaper on the ceilings of Khloé’s family room and closet to draw the eye upward, accentuating each space’s height.

Create a sense of symmetry by doubling up on pieces for a visually balanced look. The generous proportions of both Kourtney and Khloé’s family rooms allowed Bullard to incorporate matching pairs of lighting, seating, and casegoods.
4/104. Infuse whimsy.
Bullard draped sheer fabric of his own design to create volume and dimension in Khloé’s ornate living room, which evokes a sumptuous take on a Bedouin tent, complete with carved-wood accent tables and and a Levantine mirror.
5/105. Bring the indoors outside.
Khloe’s terrace reads like an outdoor living room. In the courtyard, a tile-clad fireplace is topped with a quatrefoil-style mirror by RH and surrounded by a pair of black sofas.
6/106. Accent built-ins.
To lend the bookcases in Khloé’s family room a sense of drama, Bullard painted them the same black shade as the windows, whose shape they mirror, and applied a reflective-glass backsplash behind each shelf.

In her home office, Kourtney has arranged mixed-media artworks in varying displays, from classic black-and-white photography leaned against the wall to a vibrant work on paper by Bridget Riley hung above the fireplace.
8/108. Increase your pattern play.
Use a graphic motif to break up a monochromatic space, as Khloé did in the recessed alcove in her master bath. Ann Sacks striated marble flooring extends up the side of the tub, adding visual interest while echoing the cracked-mirror sconces beyond.
9/109. Carve out personal space.
A custom-made niche in Khloé’s bedroom—an ideal place for reading or alone time—gets a dose of glamour thanks to a side table inlaid with mother-of-pearl, a star-shaped silver lantern, and cozy pillows in Manuel Canovas velvets.
10/1010. Embrace the new counter culture.
Instead of ubiquitous granite, Bullard chose durable Caesarstone for the countertops in both Kardashians’ kitchens. It complements the Ann Sacks limestone floor in Kourtney’s cook space, and adds sleek contrast to the traditional white cabinetry in Khloé’s.
