Two killed in road accidents

Two persons were killed in different accidents in the district. A 50-year-old woman was caught under the wheel of a moving bus in the early hours of Friday. Palaniammal had alighted from a Government bus near Rayakottai junction, when she was caught under the rear wheel of the bus. The driver had not noticed the victim, while taking the turn around the junction, sources said.

In another accident, a 45- year-old man of Kammanpalli in Barur was fatally knocked down from his two-wheeler on Thursday night. Govindan, was employed as a guard in a local temple.

According to the police, the deceased was returning home, when a car knocked his motorcycle in the rear, killing him on the spot.
