Kidnapped girl rescued

JAMMU, Feb 5: Pir Mitha police rescued a kidnapped girl from Surankote area of district Poonch.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by family members of a girl hailing from Christian Colony area with police station Pir Mitha few days back stating that their minor daughter left the house to purchase juice and didn’t return.
During search of the girl, the family came to know that their daughter has been kidnapped by Altaf Ahmed, a resident of Surankote, district Poonch.
Acting over the complaint, a case under relevant Sections was registered at Pir Mitha police station and investigation started.
Police team from Pir Mitha police station conducted raid at Surankote area of district Poonch and rescued the kidnapped girl. The accused managed to escape from the spot.
The girl was restored to family members after completing legal formalities.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Pir Mitha police station Inspector Javed Akhtar rescued the kidnapped girl under the supervision of SDPO City Vivek Shekhar Sharma, SP City Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
