A teenager staying at a facility for children in conflict with the law in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, found himself at the receiving end of the very crime he himself was accused of years ago.

Raymart Derick de Dios, who is detained at Bahay Aruga, Bahay Pag-asa for frustrated homicide, ended up in the hospital on Thursday after he was stabbed by a fellow detainee who said he was tired of the former bullying him and the other kids.

The facility is supposed to undertake rehabilitative programs and services for children in conflict with the law or those in need of special protection.

Case investigator PO2 Higino Dancel of the Pasig police investigation unit said that the suspect—John Bryan Cruz who is detained on theft charges—repeatedly stabbed the victim with a knife he had taken from the kitchen. Both Cruz and De Dios are 19 years old.

A fellow detainee reported the stabbing incident to one of the facility’s employees, Allan Franco, who was able to pacify the suspect and take the knife away from him.

De Dios was immediately brought to the Pasig City General Hospital where he was treated for multiple stab wounds.

Cruz, on the other hand, was sent to the Pasig police station where he was charged with frustrated homicide.
