15-year-old student commits suicide in Doda

DODA: A 15-year-old student, who had recently passed his matriculation examination with 75 per cent marks, allegedly committed suicide in the Nagri area of the district on Thursday evening after he failed to obtain desired marks.

A 15-year-old student, who had recently passed his matriculation examination with 75 per cent marks, allegedly committed suicide in the Nagri area of the district on Thursday evening after he failed to obtain desired marks.

Mohammed Sadiq, son of Ghulam Mohammed, secured 75 per cent marks in his matriculation, result of which was declared a couple of days ago, and since then he was extremely depressed as he was expected high percentage than what he obtained, reports said. Sadiq hanged himself in a room of his house.

Hailing from a remote Bagla village, Bharth Mohammed Sadiq was a son of a labourer and the youngest among three brothers. His elder brother is pursuing MBBS and the other is doing BTech. Both of them always secured more than 90 per cent marks. Sadiq also wanted to secure high percentage of marks as his elder brothers, according to the reports.

Sadiq was studing in a private school at Doda and was excellent in his studies.

Superintendent, District Hospital, Doda, Mohammed Yaqoob Mir said, “The post-mortem of the deceased has been conducted and the body handed over to the family for last rites.”

The police have registered a case.
