Obie Winner Rob Campbell & More to Star in Anne Washburn's ANTLIA PNEUMATICA at Playwrights Horizons

Playwrights Horizons has announced casting for ANTLIA PNEUMATICA, the world premiere of a new play by Anne Washburn (Mr. Burns, a post-electric play at PH; 10 Out of 12; Iphigenia at Aulis; The Internationalist), directed by two-time Obie Award winner Ken Rus Schmoll (Iowa at PH, The Internationalist, The Invisible Hand, Red Dog Howls, Middletown, What Once We Felt). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons, the play is the fifth production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season.

The cast of ANTLIA PNEUMATICA will feature Obie Award winner Rob Campbell (Small Tragedy, The Patron Saint of Sea Monsters at PH; Ms. Washburn's Iphigenia in Aulis; All the Way), Nat DeWolf (Betty's Summer Vacation at PH, Take Me Out, The Wasps), Crystal Finn (Pocatello at PH), April Matthis (Iowa at PH, On the Levee, The Sound and the Fury), Annie Parisse (Clybourne Park, The Credeaux Canvas at PH; Becky Shaw; All's Well That Ends Well/Measure for Measure; "The Following"; "Law & Order") and Maria Striar (producing artistic director of Clubbed Thumb; as performer: Ms. Washburn's The Ladies and Mr. Schmoll's production of Map of Virtue).

ANTLIA PNEUMATICA will begin previews Friday, March 11 at 7:30 PM with an Opening Night set for Monday, April 4 at 7PM. The limited engagement will play through Sunday evening, April 24 at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

In a ranch house deep in Texas Hill Country, a once tight-knit group of friends reunites to bury one of their own. But as they look backward through their lives, it becomes clear they've lost more than just their old pal. In this haunting new play from Anne Washburn, the boundaries between then and now grow disarmingly blurry as these estranged friends confront their slippery past.

The production will feature scenic design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, sound design by Leah Gelpe and original music by Daniel Kluger. Production Stage Manager is Megan Schwartz Dickert.

The performance schedule for ANTLIA PNEUMATICA will be Tuesdays through Fridays at 7:30 PM, Saturdays at 2 & 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 & 7PM. There is a special 30&Under performance on April 14 at 7:30 PM. As part of this season's Symposium series, there will be a special panel discussion with playwright Anne Washburn between shows on Saturday, April 16 at 4PM. Currently in rehearsals for the Playwrights Horizons Mainstage Theater is FAMILIAR, a new play by Obie Award winner Danai Gurira, directed by Rebecca Taichman (previews begin February 12). Following FAMILIAR and ANTLIA PNEUMATICA, the season will conclude with INDIAN SUMMER, the world premiere of a Playwrights Horizons commission by Gregory S. Moss, directed by Carolyn Cantor (previews begin May 13).
