43 Naxals, sympathisers capitulate in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Feb 5 (UNI) As many as 43 Maoists and their sympathisers, including five women, surrendered today in Sukma District.
The capitulation took place in the presence of Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) SRP Kalluri, Collector Niraj Kumar Bansod and Superintendent of Police D Shravan at the end of a fortnight-long Jan Jagran campaign launched in the region by police and the Central Reserve Police Force.
The rebels, who pledged to shun violence, were handed over Rs 10,000 each as immediate assistance pending rehabilitation.
