PUCA highlights issues of the Unaided Colleges with Punjab Governor

A delegation of Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) today met Governor, Punjab & Haryana, Sh. Kaptan Singh Solanki at Chandigarh to highlight the problems faced by unaided colleges of Punjab. The delegation was led Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA.S. Gurpreet singh, General Secretary, PUCA; CA Renu Arora, Joint Secretary and Mr. Manav Dhawan, Coordinator Tricity were also the part of this delegation.Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA said that more than 400 unaided colleges of Punjab including Engineering, Polytechnic, Architecture, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Degree etc are at the verge of closure due to the failure of the Government to save he unaided colleges of Punjab.

On the occasion Governor appreciated the formation of PUCA and the joint initiative of the members to resolve the issues faced by Unaided Colleges of Punjab.Kataria further highlighted the problems faced by the colleges including pending amount of Post Matric Scholarship for the year 2014-15 and 2015-16 for which a single penny has not been released yet.

Gurpreet Singh, General Secretary, PUCA said that in Punjab OBC Students have not paid single penny since last many years while Himachal Pradesh., Bihar etc are paying full reimbursement of tuition fees to the OBC students and Because of the nonpayment/delayed payments to the colleges, the colleges are in huge financial crisis.
