'NCIS' Season 13 Spoilers: New Female Character Coming As Michael Weatherly Moves On

American police procedural drama TV series "NCIS" is nearing the day it will close its 13th season. But before it could even air its final episode, it has been reported that someone will be leaving the show for good. According to Latin Post, series regular Michael Weatherly recently announced that he will be leaving his role as Anthony DiNozzo after the current season.

Weatherly has played as DiNozzo since the first season and his pending exit from the show may affect the show's viewership. It has also lead to several speculations on what story the show executives will decide on for DiNozzo's departure.

But fans need not fret as one may leave, but another will come. According to a report by Design and Trend, CBS is planning to add in two new female characters in replacement of DiNozzo. By the last episode of season 13, fans will get to meet one of the new female characters while the other one will be revealed in season 14. As per the reports, the network is looking for someone who can play the character named Tess, who is described as an FBI special agent. She originally worked in New York City's Counter-Terrorism Unit and has recently moved to Washington, D.C.

TVLine detailed that the tentative casting breakdown describes Tess as someone to be in her late 30's and is "two parts bulldog and one part sweet kitten." She is also said to be "quick-witted, sarcastic, and shrewd." Aside from that, her history has already been revealed. She is said to be a three-time divorcee for the reason her husbands "can't keep up with her" and has no children. But she's very gentle and caring as she likes acting as "Mamma Bear" to any co-worker who needs some comfort.

"NCIS" season 13 will return with episode 14 on Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
