andung Mayor Ridwan Kamil on Thursday urged all agencies under his administration to maximize use of internet technology in providing information and services to the public.
'I'm laying the foundation for a smart city, so whoever becomes mayor, the system would still run,' Ridwan said.
The city of Bandung in 2015 launched 28 licensing services that can be accessed online through the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT). Now, a similar system has been implemented across all public service agencies.
All kinds of public services will be accessible on the website standarpelayanan.bandung.go.id.
Members of the public who are dissatisfied with the service, can submit a complaint on the same website. Furthermore, users can find out which civil servants are working on specific documents.
Ridwan said online licensing could help residents who need information on various public services.
'Since the launch of the BPPT services, 7,000 types of licenses have been issued, allowing to eliminate middlemen [from bureaucratic procedures] and reacquiring no more meetings between applicants and officials, as all completed documents were sent by mail,' said Ridwan.
