WWE News: Alberto Del Rio Reportedly Injured; The Rock Unlikely To Make WrestleMania 32 Appearance?

World Wrestling Entertainment superstar Alberto Del Rio was almost an addition to the continuously growing injured list of talents.

According to sources that spoke to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the former Lucha Underground star (José Alberto Rodriguez in real life) recently had problems with his lower back.

Del Rio made his return to the WWE during the Hell in a Cell event in October 2015, where he won the United States Championship against John Cena.

He last saw action during the December 28th episode of Monday Night RAW, where he lost his title to Kalisto. Prior to re-signing with the WWE, he was a mainstay at Lucha Underground.

While the report did not give any further specifics on his injury and where he sustained it, it noted that Del Rio did not wrestle on last week's episode of Monday Night RAW, but was merely in the corner of fellow superstar Sheamus and Rusev during the night's main event feature.

The report adds that Del Rio did not make an appearance on Tuesday's SmackDown episode, although he was present backstage.

A recent report on WrestlingInc, however, says that Del Rio is now cleared to return to the ring, which is what he did in the Feb. 2 Smackdown taping, where he teamed up with Rusev to take on Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.

Del Rio is slated to have a match in WWE's Feb. 21 event named "Fastlane." It will be a WWE United States title match versus Kalisto, who currently holds the title.

Meanwhile, it looks like the Rock might not be making an appearance at WrestleMania 32. The event will be held on April 3 at the AT&T Center in Arlington, Texas.

According to a report by Grahame Herbert for WhatCulture, The Rock angered the WWE management when he veered away from the script of his most recent segment on last week's episode of Monday Night RAW.

Specifically, he decided to take things the extra mile and went on to interview some fans seated at the front row.

The Rock has since issued a response to the WWE through a tweet, stating going off script is "what he lives for."
