A 16-year-old girl, Durga Bhavani, sought police protection on Thursday alleging that she was being harassed by her husband.
Superintendent of Police B. Sumathi has assured all protection. According to M.S. Chandra, Director, Childline, the marriage of the 16-year-old girl, a resident of Kodipaka village of Hatnura mandal, was performed in March 2015. While her mother had already died, he father is sick since long. Her husband Dasta Goud used to harass her and made her work as house maid at several places including Hyderabad.
On Wednesday, she reached her native village and approached the local police who reportedly counselled her. On Thursday, she approached Ms. Sumathi with the assistance of Mr. Chandra. Ms. Sumathi heard her patiently and promised to do justice. She has even directed the police to register a case. She approached the Narsapur police and lodged a complaint.
