Kick-starting on Saturday, the festival has been themed 'Lucknow ki Rachi Basi Tehzeeb' this year. It will celebrate not just Hindu-Muslim unity, but also the kaleidoscope of communities settled in the city.
Lucknow has a diverse variety of Bengalis, Punjabis, Marathis, Sindhis, Kashmiris, Gujarati, Anglo-Indians and Chinese settlements.
The festival will continue till February 10. While main events will be organised at Safed Baradari in Kaiserbagh, special programmes are also lined up at Awadh Vatika behind Amir-ud-Daula public library.
A photo exhibition on the Mohallas (localities) of Lucknow will showcase a celebration of Awadhi history.
Later this month, Dastak Youth Festival and a Dastangoi on stories about Partition of India will also be organised in the city.
