A tremendous second-half performance gave Bengal Warriors a 34-24 victory over Bengaluru Bulls in the ProKabaddi League here on Thursday.
Warriors trailed 12-13 at the interval, but returned with vigour to consign their rivals to a second-straight loss at home.
This comeback potential was not apparent in the first few minutes after the restart, as it was Bulls who jumped to a 20-16 advantage. From here, it was a see-saw battle to capture the all-important lona . Slowly but surely, Warriors picked off the Bulls raiders and defenders, before finally gaining the all-out.
This allowed the Warriors to move ahead on the scoreboard, to 22-20. With around five minutes to go, visiting South Korean import Jang Kun Lee recorded a double touch on a raid, and it was curtains for the Bulls after that. The impressive Lee (11 points) was ably supported by Nitin Tomar, who contributed seven points.
Warriors now have two wins from as many fixtures, while Bulls have just the one victory in three attempts.
The result: Bengal Warriors 34 (Jang Kun Lee 11, Nitin Tomar 7) bt Bengaluru Bulls 24 (Amit Rathi 6).
