Lucknow: The international cricket stadium nearing completion at the CG city may be inaugurated informally when it hosts a high-profile cricket match between the Chief Minister's XI and IAS XI on March 20.
This was decided when a delegation led by UP IAS Association chairman Rakesh Bahadur met chief minister Akhilesh Yadav at his residence on Wednesday evening to finalise the programmes of the IAS Week to be held from March 17.
The association's secretary Bhuwanesh Kumar, chief secretary Alok Ranjan and CM's secretary Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma were also part of the delegation.
"We are grateful the chief minister has given the association time and also confirmed his participation in events during the week," Bhuwanesh Kumar told TOI.
The Services Week will be kicked off from March 17 and conclude on March 20 when the senior officers would be testing their cricketing skills against 11 members headed by the CM.
"We all will try to play match with the chief minister's team at the international cricket stadium and would see it is ready by that time," Bhuwanesh Kumar said, adding that the chief minister would also address the officers on March 18. This time, the association will also launch its website which is already complete.
