Future Group opens 217th Big Bazaar outlet

NEW DELHI: Kishore Biyani's Future Group on Wednesday said it has opened its 217th Big Bazaar outlet.
The store, in Vasant Kunj in Delhi, is a swankier version of the hypermarket, called Big Bazaar Gen Nxt. The Big Bazaar stores are otherwise positioned as a format that seeks to resemble the hustle bustle of an Indian bazaar.

Future Group has so far rolled out three Big Bazaar Gen Nxt outlets, one in Mumbai and two in the National Capital Region, that are targeted at upwardly mobile urban consumers. The stores stock gourmet food, extensive cosmetic products, lifestyle and fashion items and accord a large space to live bakery. In the swankier stores, consumers can also take token and wait in the lounge until their check-out time is reflected on TV screens.

Future Group, the country’s largest listed retailer, operates Big Bazaar stores in 114 cities.
