Jaya expels 7 partymen including 2 from Madurai

AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday expelled seven functionaries, including Madurai district deputy secretary of the trade union wing, Pandian, on charges of violating party principles.

Chennai: AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday expelled seven functionaries, including Madurai district deputy secretary of the trade union wing, Pandian, on charges of violating party principles.
Madurai city police questioned Pandian recently in connection with minor crude bombs hurled at the office of cooperation minister and Madurai West MLA Sellur K Raju at Sammattipuram.
Misa Senthil, another functionary from Madurai, who was questioned by the police, has been expelled too.
In a statement, Jayalalithaa said the functionaries brought disrepute to the party. Other functionaries expelled from the primary membership included, Perambur MGR Youth Wing deputy secretary, Lion S Ravichandran, Kancheepuram Central district treasurer, V Ravichandran, Alapakkam panchayat president K Salguru, Villianoor constituency (Puducherry) secretary S D Sekar. tnn
