ZP, TP elections: Congress releases first list of candidates

The Udupi district Congress committee released the first list of candidates for the zilla panchayat and taluk panchayat elections, here on Tuesday.

It is interesting that all those candidates are being fielded from zilla panchayat and taluk panchayat constituencies in the Byndoor Assembly constituency.

In a press release issued here, K. Gopal Poojary, Byndoor MLA, and DCC president, said that the names of seven candidates for zilla panchayat polls and 25 candidates for taluk panchayat polls had been finalised.

The candidates for zilla panchayat seats are Madan Kumar (Shiroor), Raju Poojary (Byndoor), Gowri Devadiga (Kambadakone), Sadhu S. Billava (Trasi), Manjayya Shetty (Vandse), Jyoti (Kavarady), and S. Sanjeeva Shetty (Siddapura).

The candidates for Kundapur Taluk Panchayat are Alvegadde Narayana (Shiroor 1), Ravindra Shetty (Shiroor 2), Suryakanti (Paduvari), Venkamma Devadiga (Yedthare), Vanaja (Byndoor), Pramila Devadiga (Uppunda), Jagadish Devadiga (Bijoor), Grishma (Kollur), Vijay Shetty (Kalthodu), Shekhar Poojary (Kambadakone), Padma Poojary (Kirimanjeshwara), Jagadish Poojary (Marvanthe), Santosh Kumar Shetty (Nada), Sujatha (Aloor), Ananth Movady (Trasi), Surendra Kharvi (Gangolli), Uday G. Poojary (Vandse), Satish Poojary (Karkunje), Pallavi (Hallihole), Vasudeva Pai (Siddapura), Nagappa Kothari (Ajri), Ambika (Kavarady), Raju Poojary (Hemmady), Shekhar Poojary (Tallur), and Pradeep Kumar Shetty (Shankarnarayana).
