A day before Invest Karnataka-2016, the State government has reduced rental charges in Information Technology Park in Hubballi by 50 per cent.

The rent per square feet has been reduced from Rs. 20 to Rs. 10 to attract more firms to set up their units in the IT park. Sources in the State Secretariat said that the rent has been reduced since a lot of space remains vacant in the IT park.

205 courts

The Cabinet has decided to establish 205 courts with presiding officers and necessary staff for an estimated cost of Rs. 120.74 crore. The State Cabinet has given time till March 31, 2016, for an expert forest committee to submit a report on the extent of deemed forest area in Karnataka. The government will, later, take a decision and file an affidavit in the Supreme Court on the issue.

Cultural policy

The Cabinet has deferred from taking a decision on the new cultural policy formulated by the Kannada and Culture Department, sources said. Additional Chief Secretary V. Umesh has been appointed member of the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal.
