RD Recap: Promotions at ESPN; Cuts at Rodale

The latest media hirings and firings.

ESPN makes some pretty significant changes to its highest editorial ranks. In addition to her role as EIC of espnW, Alison Overholt takes over as editor in chief of ESPN The Magazine, making her the “first female Editor-in-Chief of a general interest sports magazine,” according to the announcement. She replaces Chad Millman, who moves up to vice president, editorial director, domestic digital content. Patrick Stiegman becomes vice president, global digital content, while Ryan Spoon is the new senior vice president, digital product management.
