Anu Emmanuel picks a bold role in Telugu
It seems to be an interesting coincidence that an actress who makes her debut as Nivin Pauly's heroine in a Malayalam film will soon find her way to other industries! After Namitha Pramod, Isha Talwar and Anupama Parameshwaran, the next in line to step into Tollywood is Anu Emmanuel, who is also debuting in Malayalam as Nivin's heroine in his upcoming cop flick.
The US-based Malayali actress is set to kick-start her Telugu innings in Gopichand starrer Oxygen, directed by Jyothi Krishna.
The filmmaker says 'I was on the lookout for a fresh face and felt that Anu would be the right pick. Oxygen is an action thriller. I can't divulge much about her character, except that she plays a bold, performance-oriented role in the film.' Yesteryear Malayalam actress Sithara also has a major role in the film.
While the movie has already gone on floors, Anu, who acted as a child artist in Jayaram's Swapna Sanchari in 2011, will join the crew from the first week of February. Rashi Khanna is also one of the leading ladies of the movie, which has Jagapathy Babu in a pivotal role. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing its tunes.
