FIR against 3 for 'rangdari' demand

Araria: An FIR has been lodged against three persons with the Araria police station on the written report of an assistant sub inspector (ASI) of police Manager Ray for demanding a sum of Rs 50,000.
The accused, whose names were not disclosed by police, were arrested by a night patrolling team a few days back. However, under influence of a local officer they were released on personal bond.
According to police sources, a few days back the trio was arrested in a suspicious condition.
"Since the three accused are very influential police released them but now they have started threatening the ASI Ray on phone and are demanding money," said a source.
Senior police authorities are tight-lipped on the case.
