KOZHIKODE: Police investigation is on to net more persons involved in the distribution of
MDM (Methylene Dioxy-methamphetamine), hashish and LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide). The police probe is on as they suspect the involvement of more persons in the sale of these drugs to college students.
IT was on Saturday that police arrested a 30-year- old man for possessing three types of drugs having market value of Rs 25 lakh.
Police seized 5 gram of MDM (Methylene Dioxy-methamphetamine), 45 gram hashish and 17 gram LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide).
According to police officials, the drugs were distributed among students from other states. Goa and Bangalore based
drug mafia is suspected behind the trade of the drugs in Kozhikode.
Students are trapped by introducing them to DJ parties. Those who use LSD can dance for over 8 hours continuously after sticking LSD paper on the tongue of the users, said an official.
MDM is either inhaled or drunk by mixing with liquor, said the officials.
Students going to Bangalore and other states for higher studies and those coming to Kerala for higher studies are used as persons for transporting these drugs, said the official.
The person was arrested by a police team led by Chevayoor sub inspector U K Shajahan. Members of anti-narcotic
squad were also part of the squad.
