Actor Fatima Shaikh, who plays Geeta Phogat – one of the wrestler daughter of Mahavir Phogat – in Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal, recently got injured on the sets while rehearsing for a wrestling portion.
Fatima, who will be seen wrestling superstar Aamir Khan in the film, injured her bone near the ankle area while practising the wrestling moves. Sports specialist orthopedic was immediately called in to detect the injury and advised Fatima to rest for the next ten days.

And now she will be rehearsing for the scenes, which do not involve any wrestling.
“A specialist was immediately called in on the sets. Fatima has been advised to rest for the next 10 days and meanwhile will only be rehearsing and shooting for scenes which do not involve any wrestling,” a spokesperson of the film said.
Along with Fatima, Sanya Malhotra plays the second daughter Babita and Aamir Khan as their on screen father Mahavir Phogat, will be seen as the coach of the two phogat sisters.

Fatima and Sanya will be portraying the teenage phase of the phogat sisters and will both be seen wrestling on screen.
‘Dangal’ is based on the real life story of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his famous daughters Geeta and Babita Phogat and the relationship between them and is slated to release this Christmas on December 23.
