    IIM Trichy completes summer placements with 71% increase in highest stipend

    MUMBAI: IIM Trichy has completed summer placements for its batch of 102 students, with a 71% increase in highest stipend to Rs 2.4 lakh for a two-month internship. The highest domestic stipend was Rs 1.6 lakh while the average stipend is Rs 51,000 which is an increase of 13.3% over the previous year.

    Students also bagged internship opportunities in Europe and the Middle-East.

    This year 51 companies visited the campus for summer placements - compared to last year’s 45 -- offering roles across various sectors such as BFSI, consulting, FMCG, IT/ITeS, manufacturing, e-commerce, media and advertising, NGOs, among others. Niche roles were offered in product development, operations and strategic transaction group - investment banking.

    Recruiters during summer placements included World Bank, Dabur, HSBC, OgilvyOne, Deloitte, Mahindra, Cognizant Business Consulting, ICICI Bank, Saint Gobain Glass, TAFE, Robert Bosch, L&T, YES Bank, Fidelity, RBS, TVS Motors, L&T, RBL, Shoppers Stop and Bajaj Allianz.

    The average two-month stipend offered to the top 10 percentile of the batch was Rs 1.4 lakh; that offered to the top 25 percentile was Rs 1.13 lakh and to the top 50 percentile was Rs 84,400.
