HPCC hails MNREGA launched by UPA

Shimla, Feb 2 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today hailed the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, a flagship rural job guarantee scheme of Congress-led UPA government announced by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi in February 2006.
He was speaking at a function organised to mark the completion of 10 years of MNREGA at Rajiv Bhawan, Shimla, which was attended by PCC General Secretary Harbhajan Singh Bhajji, Harshwardhan Chauhan, PCC Media Department Chairman Naresh Chauhan, Spokesperson Subhash Manglate, all PCC Secretaries and Block Observers.
Terming the MNREGA scheme as a landmark in the history for removing poverty from the country, Mr Sukhu said the achievements of the scheme across a decade were a cause of national pride and celebration.
