Sub collector directs JICA officials to submit progress report on drinking water project work

Sub collector K Gopalakrishnan directed the officials of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) assisted drinking water project to submit a progress report immediately about the on-going pipe laying work progressing at the corporation limit.

KOZHIKODE: Sub collector K Gopalakrishnan directed the officials of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) assisted drinking water project to submit a progress report immediately about the on-going pipe laying work progressing at the corporation limit.
The sub collector directed the JICA officials to submit the report at the earliest to take steps to complete the remaining works.

The direction was given on the basis of a joint submission made by city corporation mayor V K C Mammed Koya and district panchayat president Babu Parassery about the lackadaisical attitude of the contractor entrusted with the pipe laying work of JICA drinking water project that has been posing delay for the completion of the work.
The mayor inviting the attention of the sub collector said that of the 20 proposed water tanks on the distribution network, the works of 19 tanks except one at Chelannur have already been completed.
But the delay in connecting the connection lines with main distribution lines of JICA project has not been completed. The mayor further said that the delay in the work denies benefit of the scheme to public i nthe corporation and thirteen panchayats in the district.
