Cops nab four of `Khajuriya gang'

A team of local crime branch (LCB) of Ahmedabad rural police caught four members of Dahod-based `Khajuriya Gang' and recovered valuables worth Rs 27.53 lakh. Police have recovered majority of the valuables from a receiver of stolen goods based in Dahod.

Ahmedabad: A team of local crime branch (LCB) of Ahmedabad rural police caught four members of Dahod-based `Khajuriya Gang' and recovered valuables worth Rs 27.53 lakh. Police have recovered majority of the valuables from a receiver of stolen goods based in Dahod. According to LCB officials, a team was tipped off about the group involved in thefts, and caught the alleged culprits from near Shilaj Circle earlier this week.
Rs 2.27 lakh in cash, along with silver ornaments and four wrist-watches valued in total at Rs 2.41 lakh was seized from the group when they were caught.
The four were identified as Kanti Minama, 22, Naresh Minama, 22, Sukhram Minama, all residents of Khajuriya, Dahod, and Shankar Parmar, 22, a resident of Dhanpur, Dahod.
S N Chaudhari, inspector of LCB, said that during questioning, the accused confessed to 30 thefts committed in Bopal, Sarkhej, Gandhinagar, Kudasan, Junagadh, Vanthali, Manavadar, Maliya Hatina, Jetpur and Padadhari in past six months.
