Tension after groups clash at college

Ajmer: The inauguration of student union office was marred by a ruckus at Maniklal Verma Government College in Bhilwara on Saturday. The ruckus started when a group of students accused the student union's president of furnishing fake document prior to elections. Police had to use force to control the situation.
It was a 'Mata Shakti, Rashtriya Shakti' programme organised by the student union of Bhilwara government college.

"A group of students reached near the stage and started shouting slogans against the student union. They alleged that student union president Sonu Chouhary had won the election by furnishing false information to the college authorities," said a source. Soon, the two groups clashed, triggering commotion at the venue. SHO of Sadar police station Pramod Sharma counselled both the groups, but some students tried to create tension by throwing chairs. The police had to use force.
"The clash triggered tension on the campus but the swift police action brought the situation under control," said sources.
Later, the programme was announced as over before it could begin and the police asked the students to vacate the hall.
"There were allegations and counter-allegations by both the groups. It was necessary to control the situation by separating warring students," added police. Sources said that there was also tension at the time of student union election at this college.
