The junior national boys and girls wrestling and basketball tournaments would be held here in Hanamkonda from February 2 to 5.

About 1,500 participants from across the country are expected to take part in the event. Ten boys and ten girls from Telangana State are being trained at a special camp at indoor stadium here.

According to coaches G. Ashok and M. Jaypal, the girls – Ch. Mounika, M. Mounika, Rajeswari and Laxmi Prasanna – who won national medals, would play well to bring honours to the newly-formed State.

Telangana Wrestling Association Joint Secretary Md Karim said it would be inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari. He hoped that the State teams would put up an impressive show.
