Interstate 70 is closed in both direction near the Eisenhower Tunnel as snow begins to hit the high country.
The Colorado Department of Transportation has closed down two sections of I-70 near Georgetown.
CDOT spokesperson Jarrett Handy said I-70 westbound is closed between Georgetown and the Eisenhower Tunnel and I-70 eastbound is closed between Silverthorne and the tunnel.
CDOT said the highway was closed after reports of multiple accidents and adverse weather conditions.
Handy said crews will look to open these portions of I-70 when the accidents have been cleared. He did not have information about the number or severity of the accidents.
