Sainik Welfare Rally today

Arrangements have been made for the Sainik Welfare Rally by Deputy Commander, AOC, Hyderabad, for ex-service men, widows and war widows from the three North Andhra coastal districts at Ananda Gajapathi Auditorium from 8am onwards on Sunday. Lt. Gen. Jagbir Singh, G-O-C, Southern Region will attend along with other personnel from Hyderabad.

The objective of the rally is to ascertain whether or not the facilities offered by both the Centre and State governments are reaching them promptly and also hear their grievances, if any.

In addition to a complaint cell, stalls for verification of records, canteen, pension cell, among other stalls have been arranged. The former defence personnel would be provided free food and transport allowance.

There are 1,787 ex defence personnel, including 417 widows, in Vizianagaram, 4,812 (792 widows) in Srikakulam, and 13,620 (3,461) in Visakhapatnam district, according to G. Satyanandam, District Sainik Welfare Officer.
