Uncle rapes minor, nabbed

BHOPAL: A man was arrested for raping his 11-year-old niece. The incident occurred here on Friday night.
A case was later registered at Aishbagh police station. The victim remains in shock after the incident. Police said the accused has a criminal history.
Incident took place when survivor was sleeping with her grandmother, as her mother was in hospital where her brother is admitted.
Her maternal uncle Zahid who is a resident of Shahjehnabad, came there and took the girl to another room, telling her to sleep with him.
However, he outraged her modesty. Following the girl's cries, her grandmother and others rushed to her aid.
Survivor's mother was summoned from the hospital. She took her daughter to police and registered a case against the accused.
Police said accused was nabbed soon after the incident and booked under section 376 of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Accused is a minibus conductor and was in the past booked for several crimes, including pickpocketing, loot and voluntarily causing hurt.
