The Dal dwellers who boycotted a meeting called by authorities Friday demanded that they should be rehabilitated at Chandpora Harwan. “Rakh Aarth colony is not fit for living as it lacks basic amenities. We request the Governor of the State to allot Chandpora land for our rehabilitation,” the Dal dwellers said.They further demanded that the rates for compensation for land mass/nadroo land have been determined few years ago since then inflation has taken place considerably and thus present market rates should be considered for the land acquired by the government. No lease deed directly given to owner. Ownership right at athe time  given him allotment.

“If fast track shifting of Dal Dwellers is not possible then we should be allowed to construct and renovate our dilapidated structures,” they said and added that Dal Dwellers should be rehabilitated in a time bound manner. The said 32% existing deprecition . it is afault  and delay on the part of (LAWDA) in shifting to Dal dewellers. Compensation to the NOKs for death of their kids due to negligence of the authority, the Kids of NOKs died due to fallen drains. They said that the experts who did soil testing of Rakh-e-Arth clearly maintained that it is not a suitable place for rehabilitating people. “Do the authorities want to rehabilitate us at a place which is not fit for residing,” they questioned.
