'ISIS Zindabad' message scribbled on Gandhi's statue in Rajasthan
The statue was defaced by unidentified men in Dadu area of Jaipur, says SP Dadu Sanjay Kumar
(Web Desk) – Mahatma Gandhi’s status in Dadu area of Jaipur in Rajasthan was defaced by unidentified men last week and ‘ISIS Zindabad’ (literally translates: Long live ISIS) was scribbled on the back of the statue.
According to SP Dadu Sanjay Kumar, the statue was defaced by unidentified men and there was a message written on it for the administration. The message threatened of attacks in the city on January 26 (India’s Republic Day).
Although no attack was reported anywhere and the situation remained under control, the panic among the citizens was quite visible as they thought they’d be attacked on the Republic Day.

The administration also displayed vigilance immediately after the issue was reported. According to Indian media, 94 websites linked to ISIS have so far been blocked by the Anti Terror Squad (ATS). Maharashtra ATS Chief Vivek Phansalkar told that these websites were radicalizing the youth and thus were blocked throughout the country.
Moreover, 12 suspects have been arrested in this regard and are under NIA custody till February 5.
