NASHIK: The industries in Nashik have urged the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) to commence allotment of plots at new industrial estate at Talegaon-Akrale in Dindori tehsil of the district.
The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) is developing new additional industrial estate on 500 acres at Talegaon-Akrale in Dindori tehsil of the district.
The MIDC has already started tender process for infrastructure works like roads, water supply, streetlight etc and they are expected to be developed shortly. MIDC is spending around Rs 50 crore to develop infrastructure. The layout of plots have been approved and the MIDC has already announced land rates for the new MIDC areas at Dindori, but the MIDC is yet to commence allotment of industrial plots there.
Speaking to TOI, Sanjiv Narang, president, Nahik Industries & Manufacturers' Association (NIMA), said, "The MIDC had declared the land rates before developing infrastructure at the new MIDC areas at Talegaon-Akrale in Dindori tehsil, but it did not commence allotment of plots even after seven months of declaring the land rates. The MIDC had announced concessional rates of Rs 2,300 per sq metre for the first six months by Dec 31 and Rs 3,000 per sq metre thereafter. The MIDC did not commence allotment of plots to the industries even the last date for taking benefits of the concessional rates ended on Dec 31."
Narang added, "Following demand from the industries, the MIDC extended the date for concessional rates by another six months upto July 7, but the MIDC has still not taken any decision pertaining the allotment of plots. Hence, we have urged the MIDC to commence allotment of industrial plots at Talegaon-Akrale in Dindori. We have also decided to take up this issue with the industry minister Subhash Desai at the earliest."
The Satpur and Ambad MIDC areas in Nashik have fully occupied and there is no land for the existing industries for expansion and the new industries to set up their base here. But not a single large industry could come here due to lack of land here. An industrial growth of Nashik district has been hampered due to lack of land. At this juncture, new industrial estate coming up at Talegaon-Akrale in Dindori, which 18 kms from Nashik city, is likely to boost industrial growth of Nashik, but the MIDC is going very slow in developing of industrial areas and allotment of plots to the industries.
