Stellar line-up for DD Kosambi fest

Panaji: The state is set to witness yet another year of intellectual stimulation and inspiring people through discourses of brilliant minds, with the ninth edition of the DD Kosambi Festival of Ideas to be held from February1 at Kala Academy.
The five-day festival will feature, chairperson of Infosys foundation, Sudha Murthy; George Papandreou, former prime minister of Greece; Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, the first woman to assume the office of WHO regional director for south-east Asia; Arvind Kumar Gupta, toy-maker and author of matchstick models and other science experiments; and Richard Schechner, editor of TDR: The Journal of Performance Studies.The inaugural ceremony of the DD Kosambi Festival of Ideas will be held on February 1 at 5pm. Year after year, the directorate of art and culture, Goa initiates this festival to commemorate the birth centenary of the illustrious stalwart, Damodar Dharmanand Kosambi, the Indian mathematician, statistician, historian, and polymath who contributed immensly to genetics through his classic paper on mapping function.
