Red Carpet Report Card: Fashionista Sonam Kapoor gets it wrong!

Dated and how
We get it that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wanted to represent India and Indian aesthetic when she met the French President but does it always have to be about the cliched red sari, centre-parted hair and the customary flower in the hair routine? The look brought to mind the popular Bollywood awards ceremony in the 60s and 70s when actresses would show up in ornate saris accented with gajra in their hair. Wish the former Miss World had opted for a more contemporary Indian silhouette considering she can rock any outfit under the sun and that too with elan.

Ditch the silk
While one one hand we love screen goddess Rekha's penchant for rich Kanjeevaram weaves, we also wish to see her in French chiffon once in a way. One look at the archive of all her pap shots and all one's likely to find is gold and more gold. We'd love to see her other more whimsical side in light-as-a-feather fabrics.

Far from flattering
Fashionista Sonam Kapoor rarely gets it wrong but come on, every look can't be an OMG-inducing epiphany. While make-up and hair wise, we have no complaints, however we do have an issue with the blouse style which had a peplum like detailing. However, we'll give her credit for trying something new.

Upholstery?
Sunny Leone's pick of this outfit (is it made out of a sofa fabric?) was uninspiring, to being with. Even if we look beyond the outfit, it does nothing for her killer physique.

Temple inspired?
Looks like that due to the post recession blues, Shriya Saran converted all her money into gold and she doesn't keep it at home or in her bank. Instead she likes to wear it when she steps out. We tried counting the number of necklaces she has on but we stopped because we thought we'll go blind. Uff!

Draping mess
Kajol's sari would have looked way more redeeming if she had draped it well. Looks like she was in a rush to reach the event venue and draped it in a rush and hence the sartorial problem!
