Rabodi man kills dog with paver block, FIR lodged

Thane: A three-year-old stray dog was smothered to death in Rabodi area late on Thursday night. The accused, Ramzan Saudagar, apparently hurled a concrete paver block, killing him, while the stray was asleep. Usman Naik, who lives in Naik Villa in Rabodi noticed the dog lying dead and decided to file a police complaint against the culprit.
“When I inquired if anyone knew who had killed the dog, an eyewitness pointed towards Ramzan Saudagar.He had killed the dog, as his daughter was bitten by some other stray dog. Saudagar must have taken this step in a fit of rage,” Naik said in his complaint to the police.
Naik got the corpse out from a nullah and took it to the police station from where it was sent for post-mortem. “We are very disturbed with the cruelty against dog,” said an upset Naik. “FIR has been filed and investigations are on,” said KG Chavan, Senior PI, Rabodi police station.
