It seems that Dolce & Gabbana is stitching a different tune when it comes to gay marriage.

The Italian fashion house, which came under fire last year after slamming the sanctity of same-sex courtships, debuted a new handbag on designer Stefano Gabbana’s Instagram on Thursday, featuring a modern-day family of two fathers embracing their three children, one of which has a darker skin tone.

While the luxury label has yet to comment on the statement-making accessory, it illustrates the exact opposite of what co-founder Domenico Dolce originally described as the ideal family.

“We oppose gay adoptions — the only family is the traditional one,” Dolce told Italian mag Panorama. “No chemical offspring and rented uterus. Life has a natural flow; there are things that cannot be changed.”

“I am opposed to the idea of a child growing up with two gay parents. A child needs a mother and a father. I could not imagine my childhood without my mother. I also believe that it is cruel to take a baby away from its mother,” Gabbana reiterated.

This isn’t the first time Dolce & Gabbana has stirred up controversy. In March of last year, feminist groups boycotted the company over a fashion ad in which a female appears to be the object of desire for several male suitors — all the while being pinned down by a not-so-charming prince.

“I guess simulating gangbangs are fine — but IVF and same-sex marriage are not — life according to @dolcegabbana,” p.r. maven Kelly Cutrone tweeted at the time.
