GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Ahman Green has been a Batman fan since he was a little kid. He even has a Batman tattoo.

Now, the Green Bay Packers’ all-time leading rusher is getting even closer to his favorite superhero. Green has a role in the new “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” movie due out on March 25.

Green, who still lives in Green Bay, talked about his role and how it came together during an interview on the “Just Not Sports” podcast this week. He revealed that his character’s name is "Thug #2," and his role is more than just as an extra.

“If you go to IMDb.com right now I am on the cast list,” Green said on the podcast. “So I think I’m more than an extra. That was just a dream come true, a great opportunity that [director] Zack Snyder and their casting director gave me to be on set.”

This is not Green’s first appearance on the big screen. He also appeared in the 2007 film “Big Stan” and has a part in “The 60 Yard Line,” a Packers-themed romantic comedy set and filmed in Green Bay that will be released later this year.

Green said he met Snyder, a Green Bay native and Packers fan, several years ago and kept hounding him for a role in one of his movies.

“I just kept sending him messages and calling him and just kind of reminding him, because he’s a big-time movie director,” Green said. “He’s a guy that can forget things and it won’t be his fault, because he has a thousand things going on every day. So I just stayed consistent with contacting him and finally I got a call from Warner Bros. Studios setting up flights. ... It was just like ‘Yes, here we go!’”

The 38-year-old Green played 12 seasons in the NFL, including eight for the Packers. He retired in 2009 as the Packers’ career rushing leader with 8,322 yards.
