Jaisalmer: The recent issue of balloons entering from across the border in Barmer was discussed at the bi-lateral meeting between India and Pakistan at Khokharappar in Pakistan.
Though it was not in the official agenda but informal talks were held in this regard. However, Pak Rangers denied having any information on the issue.
The main agenda was increasing poaching of birds at the international border.
The Indian delegation was led by BSF (Barmer sector) Commander, DIG, Pratul Gautam, while Pakistan delegation was led by deputy director general of Sindh Rangers Brigadier Azhar.
Sources said India took up the issue of intrusion on which Pak assured that that they will try to stop it in all possible ways. In the meeting, Pakistan raised the issue that a few residents of Pakistan had gone to India.
However, BSF told them that Pakistan intruders had illegal entered into India and they are lodged in various jails. They will be handed over to Pakistan once they complete their sentence, BSF said. Both parties agreed on a border pillar verification campaign to re-establish border pillars that have got damaged. Both sides have agreed to hand over the people or mentally challenged persons who by mistake enter into each other's area after necessary inquiry.
