Residents of Landour today presented a memorandum to the Mussoorie SDM demanding immediate construction of the Clock Tower. The tower was demolished to pave way for a new one.
Residents threatened that if the Clock Tower was not constructed soon, they would go on an indefinite strike.
The residents, including traders from the area, presented a memorandum stating that the historic Clock Tower was demolished five years ago in the name of reconstruction but sadly, no action had been initiated in this regard so far, leading to immense resentment among the people of the area.
The residents warned the administrations that if efforts were not made to start the construction work, the traders and the residents would be forced to sit on an indefinite hunger strike.
Anant Pal Singh, who led the residents, said he would be the first to sit on the hunger strike in its first phase.
Ravi Goel, Anurag Rastogi, Nitin Mittal, Chandragupt Verma, Balbir Rawat, Anurag Rastogi, Nitin Mittal, Pinki and Godavari were among the residents who signed the memorandum.
