With the arrest of four persons, Aurangabad police on Wednesday claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of bike lifters.

Aurangabad: With the arrest of four persons, Aurangabad police on Wednesday claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of bike lifters. Aurangabad SP Babu Ram said acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Kutumba SHO Subhash Kumar carried out raids at several places and arrested four persons.
Six motorcycles and five cellphones were recovered from the possession of the arrested persons, The SP said that circle inspectors and SHOs have been asked to crack the pending bike theft cases.
"Any laxity on the part of the inspectors and SHOs will not be tolerated," he said.
According to police, the arrested criminals were involved in bike theft cases in Jharkhand's Palamu district as well. Those arrested have been identified as Wakil Paswan, Annu Ansari, Wasim Alam and Sakaldeep Yadav, all from Aurangabad district.
Farmer killed: A group of villagers killed Rabindra Pandey, a farmer and resident of Kallen village under Khudowa police station in Aurangabad district over an old enmity late on Wednesday night.
Police said the villagers attacked Pandey with lathis, injuring him seriously. An injured Pandey was taken to sadar hospital from where the doctors referred him to a Gaya hospital. The injured farmer succumbed to his injuries at Sherghati on way to Gaya. The victim's family members met Aurangabad SP Babu Ram and vented their ire on SHO of Khudowa police station Manoj Ram.
Daudnagar SDPO Sanjay Kumar said FIR had been lodged in connection with the case. "The role of SHO would be probed," he added.
