Mangaluru: Chikkayalur in Kollegal taluk of Chamarajanagar district recorded maximum rainfall of 0.5mm in last 24 hours up to 8.30am on January 28. Rupanagudi hobli in Ballari taluk of Ballari district recorded maximum temperature of 38.3°C at 2.45pm on January 27. Manalli hobli in Bidar taluk of Bidar district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 10.4°C on January 28 at 6.45am, G S Srinivasa Reddy, director, KSNDMC said.

More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 39% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 29% geographical area in the state. Dry weather condition prevailed over the state. Very light rain was recorded over 11 gram panchayats and no rainfall over remaining 5,015 gram panchayats across the state.
Karnataka for the period from January 1 to January 28 recorded surplus rainfall of 63%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 2mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 2mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on January 28, four geographical regions received 0mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 0.1mm, a 300% surplus departure from weighted-average rainfall.
